„Dear …,
…
Kenya is is chaos. Personally I was a voter in Nairobi and it was so bad that for a period of 11days, I could not leave my house even to go to purchase grocery or airtime for my phone, lesser still to access the internet. I have never seen such wanton destruction in my entire life in the city.
Praise be to God that I am a beneficiary of teh DPC Training. I was able to get my neighbours together and we have managed to stay like brothers and sisters even though we are of different ethnic backgrounds.
What you have seen on CNN or any other channel available there in Germany is a drop of the actual situation. What is happening here on the ground is much more grevious. It will take Kenya quite some time to get back on its feet - in terms of the economy and people relations.
Well, that aside, am again happy that DPC has such plans as to organise another training. I really look forward to it because it will be an opportunity for me share with my trainers the experiences I have witnessed. Infact some of the incidences were executed so near to me if I had a Video camera I would have captured the raw scenes from a vantage point of my roof!
In the meantime, we hope the arrival of President Kufuor of Ghana for mediation will bear fruit. Otherwise in the meantime, the situation is still quite fluid.
Sir, I will be giving you updates as the situation progresses here. We are still unable to resume work due to uncertainities. Hopefully by Tuesday 15th, we shall be in the office.
Pass my regards to all the DPC Family members in Germany, Nertherlands, the USA and wherever else they are. Please let them pray for peace and stability in Kenya.
With best wishes,
…
Nairobi, Kenya."
